Choose who sees your stuff
Private is for sharing an item directly without advertising it to everyone. Once reviewed, it stays out of Browse and search, but anyone with its link can view it and make a request. You can send the link to family, friends, or a group you choose—just remember that they can forward it.
Friends—coming soon is for offering items to people in your social network. You can choose Friends now to set those items aside. For now, only you can see them; sharing with your network will come later.
Public is for finding a new home with anyone nearby. After photo review, the item appears in Browse and search. You can change your choice in My Stuff or Edit.
Price it—or don’t
The owner can offer an item free or set a minimum price. Every item still accepts monetary offers (“bribing”) and personal appeals (“begging”).
Buyers can add a cash offer to any listing. The seller may choose any request and is not committed to selecting the highest cash offer. If the seller chooses a request with a cash offer, the seller can choose to charge only an amount between the original listing price (free = $0.00) and the amount of the offer or the second highest offer, whichever is smaller. For example, if an item is listed for free, you offer $1,000, and there is no other interest, the seller can choose you, but it must be free. If there had been another offer for $10, the seller could choose either buyer but can only charge up to $10.
Find the right match
Money never chooses the recipient automatically. Someone can “Beg” by explaining why the item should find a home with them. The owner can choose which request feels right or turn on “first request wins.”
Hand it off thoughtfully
Once selected, the recipient accepts a clear pickup checklist before receiving private instructions and will pick up promptly. The goal is less garage clutter, less waste, and more useful things finding people who genuinely want them.
